Angel Island sits in the San Francisco Bay, offering spectacular views of the entire San Francisco region & Mount Tamalpais. This historical island was a fishing and hunting site for Coastal Miwok Indians. It was occupied by a Spanish explorer, a cattle rancher, and the U.S. Army. During World War II, Japanese & German POWs were held here.

2 active Coast Guard stations on the island - Point Blunt & Point Stuart.

ferry boat service: There is no weekday ferry service to Angel Island during the winter months

Access to Angel Island is by public ferry or private boat. Campers should arrange travel before reserving. Register before sunset at the Ayala Cove kiosk or Ranger Station.

Confirm ferry schedule before making the reservation. Vehicles, dogs, skates and skateboards are prohibited on the island.
