Most of these snowmobiling areas in California are located within National Forest lands. Best to get a real good map if you wanna do some serious exploring. Stay and blaze your own trails.

DONNER SUMMIT
Hwy. I-80, Castle Peak exit, on frontage road south of freeway, just beyond Boreal In. Trails are on north side of freeway. Some snowmobiling. Crowded on weekends. Avalanche and rock fall danger on steeper slopes.
