if you gotta get your wildflower fix, then plan a trip out to the mojave in the next several weeks. The recent rains will bring lots of blooms this spring, but hot temps start in april, so don't put it off too long. visit the many california deserts. camp or hotel it at your new found destination. get a map & explore the backroads

winter has arrived.
head up to the slopes now while the skiing is the best powder you've seen in years. reserve a mountain cabin. rent some cross country skis, snow-mobiles or snow shoes & hit the backcountry wilderness trails near your favorite mountain resort town. sleigh rides, sledding spots & weekend of the white stuff

shoshone.
while death valley national park gets tons of visitors each year, most fail to stop at the surrounding areas - historic mines, hot springs, indian petroglyphs, ghost towns & antique shops. the small town of shoshone has RV sites, as well as a small hotel. a date farm is nearby for that mid-afternoon date shake
