Highway 172 is the shortest state highway in California. Located in Northern Cal, this route connects the town of Mill Creek to the town of Mineral, on the south side of Lassen Volcanic NP and Highway 36. Mill Creek cabin community, also referred to as Mill Creek Home Site, is surrounded by Lassen NF, campgrounds, hiking and numerous dirt roads. The actual Mill Creek flows south from Lassen Park and passes by, then continues down to the Mill Creek Rim and Ishi wilderness. Rustic resort open only during summer is the main attraction with general store, cabin rentals, RV camp and a tent campground.
