Panamint is located on Hwy 190 (near the Panamint Valley Rd intersection) on the west end of Death Valley National Park. Panamint Valley is great for back roads exploring & old mines. Cerro Gordo & Ballarat are nearby ghost towns. Darwin Falls is a nearby hike & the south pass entrance to Saline Valley is just up the hill. Panamint serves annual free Thanksgiving meals, a popular tradition that attracts all kinds of desert travelers.
