San Diego's Ocean Beach is right next to the San Diego River, near Point Loma & Sunset Cliffs. Also known as O.B. (OB), this eclectic beach village has the flavors of hippy, trippy, surfer & granola. In 2001, the liberal residents opposed the opening of coffee chain, Starbucks, with a slogan of "No Corporate Whores on OB Shores".

This hip lil San Diego beach town has high density living w/ apartments and condos, small historic homes to 3 story mini mansions. Popular fishing pier, a few rock jetties, lotsa restaurants, bars, village shops & hemp. San Diego's surf haven of Ocean Beach is primarily dominated by small independent businesses & there is definitely am underlying hippie culture.
