Numerous off road and hiking adventures await. Desert dirt roads lead to secluded canyons, springs, and historical cabins and mining operations. The Trona Pinnacles, located on the south side of town, are the biggest attraction around this North Mojave desert area. Death Valley National Park is nearby. Panamint Valley and Ballarat are pretty close, as well as Goler Wash and Barker Ranch (the Manson Cabin)
