One of the most precious pieces of coastline here for you to enjoy, be it a meal w/ ocean view, a snack from the store, maybe gasoline, or an overnight stay in the historic cottages. Feel the ocean mist, take in the scenery - and stop for the view, at the very least. 2021 NEWS: The restaurant has burned down, but cottages remain intact.

description:
One decent cafe & some rare cottage rentals - right on the cliffs (west side of the Big Sur Highway 1). Rural, rugged coves, great scenery, rugged hikes & back road exploring nearby on Nacimiento Road. Wildflowers bloom from March to September. the June Gloom factor: Camping is not ideal in the month of June, due to the inversion (fog and clouds) layer along the coastline. It can be damp and miserable, light mist, with windbreakers needed. Or on rare sunny weeks, it can be bikini weather!
