West of Sequoia NP, east of Visalia, California.<\/p>\n<p>Crystal Cave<br \/>\nMineral King<br \/>\nSequoia National Park<br \/>\nThree Rivers<br \/>\nVisalia<\/p>\n<p>The small town of <a href=\"https:\/\/totalescape.com\/destin\/california-towns.php?tid=484\">Three Rivers<\/a> is just up the road from this small reservoir &amp; their slogan is the &#8216;southern gateway&#8217; to the <a href=\"https:\/\/totalescape.com\/active\/campstuff\/NP\/seqnp.html\">Sequoia National Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There are several recreational reservoirs that are situated at the base of the Sierras, along the western slopes. The <a href=\"https:\/\/totalescape.com\/destin\/rivers\/kaweah.html\">Kaweah River<\/a> transports snowmelt deep from the Sierra Nevada mountains, down to the San Joaquin Valley (Central Valley), for human consumption, households, and agriculture.<\/p>\n<h2>Lake Kaweah California<\/h2>\n<p>elevation: 1945&#8242;<br \/>\nsurface area: 1200&#8242;<br \/>\nvegetation: minimal trees, scrub oak, wildflower foothills<\/p>\n<p><strong>fishing &#8211; <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>bass<\/li>\n<li>bluegill<\/li>\n<li>catfish<\/li>\n<li>crappie<\/li>\n<li>trout<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>recreation &#8211; <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>backpack<\/li>\n<li>bike<\/li>\n<li>boat<\/li>\n<li>camp<\/li>\n<li>canoe<\/li>\n<li>hike<\/li>\n<li>houseboat<\/li>\n<li>kayak<\/li>\n<li>sail<\/li>\n<li>swim<\/li>\n<li>waterski<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Horse Creek Recreation Area<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spk.usace.army.mil\/Locations\/Sacramento-District-Parks\/Lake-Kaweah\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Horse Creek Campground<\/a><br \/>\n76 camp sites<\/p>\n<h3>Kaweah Rentals<\/h3>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kaweahmarina.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kaweah Marina<\/a><\/strong> has patio boats, fishing boats, and paddle boards available for rent. Reservations are needed in summer for weekends and holidays. 559-597-2526<\/p>\n<h3>Kaweah Houseboats<\/h3>\n<p>Privately owned house-boats can be seen on this lake, although none are available at the marina for rent. The original town of Kaweah (elev 960&#8242;) is along this route.
