Pismo Beach is the weekend vacation haven for Central of California - from LA to SF and from the Central Valley and the Mojave deserts - outdoor people flock here by the droves. Located half way between San Francisco and Los Angeles, on the gorgeous Central Coast, the "Five Cities" area encompasses Pismo, as well as Shell Beach, Grover Beach, Arroyo Grande & maybe even rural Nipomo. Bako boys with all their toys can be seen headed westbound on Hwy 166, for some cooler temps and off-road sand dunes. RV Campers frequent Pismo Beach and can easily walk to the pier and all the shops. Dune buggies, ATV & quads aim for SVRA Oceano - or 'Pismo Dunes' as most still call it. The fishing pier downtown in Pismo is the central hub for the tourists, surfers, local restaurants & beach goers. Many fine restaurants, cafes and coffe shops.
