The amazing Lake Tahoe region encompasses more than 400 square miles of High Sierra alpine bliss and is the largest, deepest alpine lake in North America. From snow skiing in winter to kayaking in summer, there is something for everyone here. The east shoreline of the lake is in neighboring Nevada & the rest inside California. The south end has the casinos, paddle boat cruises & some Heavenly Skiing. The north end has the fine restaurants, gorgeous mansions & excellent marinas. The fragile ecosystem of the lake is always at risk with this much recreation.
