Small camping and fishing lake located at the southern end of the Wildcat Ridge, where the range intersects with the Diamond Mountains, near Honey Lake. About a dozen miles up Janesville Grade Rd (Road #1, aka Forest Rd #28N01 or County Route #208) will reach the alpine lake, located West of US Hwy 395 and North of RENO, NV.

Antelope Lake is surrounded by forest, creeks and mountain peaks. This destination has abundant camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, mountain biking, snowmobiling, all inside Plumas National Forest. South of Susanville / North of Portola, California.

Large wildfires have recently burned the dense forest surrounding Antelope Lake, Plumas PDF and Walker Fire, 2019.

Open, primitive camping is allowed on the dirt backroads inside the Plumas National Forest region, with a valid campfire permit. Contact the Quincy ranger station for current fire restrictions. This prime alpine elevation, NorCal forest is far enough out-of-the-way, that many do not venture this far from the urban centers along the west coast. However, RV travelers, seasonal hunters and fishermen all know this gem of a lake, and it is quite popular in winter months with snow trails and snowmobiles.
