lake.havasu

A large desert lake created by a wide section of the Colorado River, as it runs down the lower California (and into to the Sea of Cortez). Lake Havasu City is mobile home mecca, and then condos come in a close second. Overnight accommodations consider themselves to be suites, with lake views. Is the mini bar included? Warning: it does get windy out here, and summer brings triple digit heat for months.

Spring Break at the River in SoCal? Yes, during warm sunny weekends in March and April you will find young people out and about. This is a big destination for thousands of college kids over the Easter break (aka Spring Break). Most of the time it's a pretty quiet community. Wildflowers also bloom in the desert during the early Spring time. Plenty of RV parks, and watercraft rental shops line the main streets.

London Bridge, Lake Havasu, Arizona

The biggest deal out here is the transplant of the real London Bridge. The historic bridge was sold to a developer, and was shipped over from the United Kingdom and put back together brick by brick. Look for the numbers still on the blocks. Cafes and restaurants near the river, bars, live music, shopping centers, jet ski rentals, dinner cruises, the whole nine yards.
