Hwy 49 is Main Street in northern Gold Country. The brick building is the Busch & Heringlake Inn, the oldest structure in town, built in 1871 out of red bricks (manufactured right down the street) & located in the heart of Sierra City, California. The mighty granite Sierra Buttes tower above this small village which makes for a very impressive backdrop.

Small mountain town in the northern Sierra Nevada, along the North fork of the Yuba River. Situated right below the Sierra Buttes & next door to Lakes Basin recreation area (aka Gold Lake). A perfect lil place to spend the weekend, away from the crowds, tucked way back up here, hidden in granite splendor.
