Plenty of remote camping options are available in the Lassen
National Forest, which surrounds the National Park area. Graded dirt roads that are often passable in warmer months - with almost any camper trailer. In summer, Lassen is a popular vacation spot for many. If you want to stay away from developed campgrounds and find true seclusion, you will need to hit the dirt (back roads). And if plan to head for the most remote, you will need the good maps! The dirt roads are usually kept in good condition and often closed in winter months. Best to call rangers station for an up-to-date report on road conditions and dirt roads or trail access.
