Calico is the tourist-trap ghost town in all of California. Bodie may be well known, but Calico takes the cake on amount of visitors, admission fees, shopping, restaurants, entertainment & tours. Imagine of a Hollywood set with a touch of theme park. Family fun is here! The location is easy to get to - on your way to or from Las Vegas. Weekends can be crowded & best time to visit is morning.

Ghost town restored in 1951 by Walter Knott (of Knott's BerryFarm fame). Later donated to San Bernardino County in 1966. Cafes, shops, saloon, walking tours. A living museum complete with a school house, train rides & dramatic re-enactments. Perfect family stop. Lots to see, do & learn about for the kids.
