High above the California Central Valley, sits the alpine village of Lakeshore. Located next to Huntington Lake, which is just up the hill from of Shaver Lake (East of Fresno). This small community is open year round & home to some of the best Sierra snowmobiling. Huntington is a prime sailing lake in summer months. The Kaiser Wilderness abounds with camping, backpacking, horseback and off-road trails. The power company Edison, runs hydro-electric power plants; reservoirs & big water flows up in these parts, including Florence Lake & Edison Lake, which have excellent access to high elevation back country trails. The High Sierra can be reached by a ferry boat across Edison, straight into the Ansel Adams Wilderness at 8000'. There is also another small community called Lakeshore CA at Shasta Lake.
