Pristine Northern Sierra Lake; the Gold Lake region, or Lakes Basin Recreation Area is a series of small, angelic, snow melt lakes surrounded by granite mountain peaks. Where the Sierra Nevada granite rock meets the volcano Cascade Range.

Located on the border of Tahoe & Plumas National Forests, with the impressive spires, Sierra Buttes, towering over the lake landscape. This is headwaters to the Yuba river watershed. Far north gold country, N of California Hwy 49.

A number of small seasonal cabin resorts dot the landscapes between creeks, pines, waterfalls, with at least 10 small crystal clear blue lakes & granite peaks as the backdrop. Summer is fishing, hiking & mountain biking; Winter cross country skiing, ice skating & snowmobile haven.
