Near the community of Fairview, CA this precious little Sierra resort was a gem on the Kern River. The whole property was destroyed during the McNally Wildfire in July 2002. Bummer! Make sure you visit these kinda places before they are all gone. Be extremely safe with flames & any fire in the back country.

description:
Located right on the Upper Kern River, the quaint and shady "Road's End Lodge" had a number of cute cottages, painted green with river rock accents. Lush vegetation overhung the Sierra Hwy w/ plenty parking on both sides of the road. The small market & burger stand were open most weekends, cool stone patio with outdoor seating. All is lost to the devastating wildfire that ripped through this Kern canyon in mid-2002.
